National Demonstration Saturday Nov 27th

Our campaign to defend the State Pension has gathered great momentum and support around the country. At our most recent count we have received over 40,000 individual petition signatures. We also know that supporters have left TDs in no doubt about the importance of safeguarding the State Pension and related supports in December’s Budget.

We will be delivering a powerful message along with the tens of thousands of petitions to Leinster House on 30th November.

Three days beforehand the Irish Senior Citizen’s Parliament, a member of our alliance, will be supporting a large number of older people to take part in a National Demonstration organised by the Irish Congress of Trade Unions.

Older & Bolder supports the Irish Senior Citizens Parliament and recognises that this demonstration is an opportunity to express solidarity between older people and groups from different sectors and generations whilst calling for the defence of the State Pension and associated supports.

If you would like to participate we ask you to join the Irish Senior Citizens Parliament section of the rally

  • At 12 noon on Saturday 27th November
  • Assembling at Cook street, Wood Quay Dublin
  • Keep an eye out for the Irish Senior Citizen Parliament banners and the Older & Bolder pink umbrellas
  • With safety in mind we recommend that, once the demonstration is over you should leave promptly and go to an agreed destination to meet up with friends you may have lost contact with during the march. For this purpose we’re recommending the Gresham Hotel on O’Connell Street as a convenient meeting point.

Marching from Wood Quay to the GPO (check out the route map)

Rest assured that if you cannot attend the National Demonstration on the 27th November Older & Bolder will still be delivering our strong campaign message along with your signed petition to Leinster House on the 30th November.
